Following last month’s announcement that Christopher Nolan has plans to set his next film at Universal with Matt Damon and Tom Holland expected to star, two new additions have been added to the cast. Zendaya and Anne Hathaway are now slated to join the film alongside Holland and Damon.
For Hathaway and Nolan, the two reunite following their 2014 space epic collaboration on Interstellar and 2012’s The Dark Knight Rises. In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Hathaway expressed deep gratitude for Nolan who cast her in Interstellar following the backlash online from her Oscar win for Les Misérables, “I had an angel in Christopher Nolan, who did not care about that and gave me one of the most beautiful roles I’ve had in one of the best films that I’ve been a part of…And my career did not lose momentum the way it could have if he hadn’t backed me.” Hathaway has big list of releases including Paper Tiger starring Adam Driver and Jeremy Strong, Flowervale Street with director David Robert Mitchell, Mother Mary with Michaela Coel and the recently announced long-awaited Princess Diaries 3.
Zendaya returns to the big screens with Holland, in the midst of of confirmed plans to reprise her role as MJ in the Spider-Man films. Both Holland and Zendaya are set to be in the upcoming fourth film in the Marvel franchise. The star has appeared in two big motion pictures this year, including Dune: Part Two and Challengers.
Nolan has set a theatrical and IMAX release date for his upcoming film for July 17, 2026. Plot details remain under wraps at this time.
