In other news, Bryan recently released two new songs, “This World’s a Giant” and “High Road,” which seemingly allude to his recent, highly-publicized break-up with Brianna LaPaglia. “New York this time of year ain’t good for me/ ’Cause all my friends lack self-control and empathy … Everyone is tellin’ me that I need help or therapy/ But all I need is to be left alone,” he sings on the verses for “High Road,” before reaching the chorus line, “I’vе waited by the telеphone all fuckin’ night/ For someone that ain’t ever gonna call.”
In an Instagram post, Bryan wrote that he first wrote the chorus for “High Road” a few months ago, but was inspired to finish and release the new music after visiting his mother’s grave in Oklahoma. Stream the songs below.
Bryan released his most recent album, The Great American Bar Scene, over the summer.
