Yves Tumor is known for pushing the boundaries of pop music with an eclectic and original sound that draws from genres spanning rock, psychedelia, electronica and beyond. On their newly-announced forthcoming album, the artist is looking to take their music a step further with new forms of experimentation and exploration.
Lauded as Tumor’s “most intimate and personal statement to date,” the LP is titled Praise A Lord Who Chews But Which Does Not Consume; (Or Simply, Hot Between Worlds). Listeners will be taken on a journey underlined by the artist’s complex relationship to spirituality, with songs dipping between genres, motifs and the musical translation of darkness and light.
True to Tumor’s previous projects, the LP will lead with meticulously-composed musical arrangements. Frank Ocean and Drake collaborator Noah Goldstein is producing the album, with mixing from Alan Moulder. Additional contributions come from Chris Greatti, Yves Rothman and Rhys Hastings.
Praise A Lord Who Chews But Which Does Not Consume will follow 2020’s Heaven To A Tortured Mind album and 2021’s The Asymptotical World EP. The first single from the upcoming album, “Echolalia,” is already out, alongside an official visual.
Tumor will kick off a tour for the new LP, beginning with sets across both weekends of Coachella, after which they’ll hit major cities across the U.S., Canada, Europe and the U.K. Tickets for the tour will go on sale beginning Friday, February 3, at 10 a.m. local time.
Praise A Lord Who Chews But Which Does Not Consume is out for streaming on March 17th via Warp Records. Listen to Yves Tumor’s “Echolalia” now.
