YouTube is back for its 10th year to livestream Coachella 2022.
Promising “a fully immersive experience like never before,” YouTube will be livestreaming both weekends on April 15 to April 17 and April 22 to April 24 and will deliver live performances from three different livestream feeds, intimate artist interviews, behind-the-scenes YouTube Shorts, YouTube Premium pre-parties and, for the very first time, will offer exclusive Coachella and artist merchandise via YouTube Shopping.
For the second week, YouTube will host the Coachella Curated livestream experience that will feature closer looks into the stories of today’s artists, and will include encore performances, artist commentary, mini-documentaries and more. Meanwhile, the exclusive YouTube Premium pre-parties will allow Premium users to virtually attend six pre-parties with the likes of Cordae, 88rising, Banda MS, Omar Apollo, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu and beabadoobee.
This year’s Coachella festival will feature headliners Billie Eilish, Harry Styles and The Weeknd x Swedish House Mafia — the latter of whom replaced Kanye West on the bill. Fans can also catch the likes of Lil Baby, Daniel Caesar, Big Sean, Snoh Aalegra, Megan Thee Stallion, 21 Savage and Doja Cat in the desert.
Elsewhere in music, Harry Styles’ “As It Was” earned the biggest debut streaming week of 2022 so far.
