Young Thug, Lil Yachty, Gunna, Coi Leray and More Appear in HBO’s New ‘Chillin Island’ Trailer

HBO has dropped off the official trailer for Chillin Island, an upcoming, unscripted series that follows rappers and other artists as they journey through different natural landscapes in an attempt to “reveal unknowable truths from the dreamstate of the shared human existence.”

The series includes Young Thug, Lil Yachty, Gunna, Coi Leray, Lil Tecca, Killer Mike, Ski Mask the Slump God and Ezra Koening of Vampire Weekend. According to Deadline, Rosalía will make an appearance in the HBO show, though she did not appear in the trailer.

The show is based on a web series by Ashok Kondabolu (Dapwell of Das Racist), Lakutis (Aleksey Weintraub) and Despot (Alec Reinstein), each of whom will also appear in the upcoming HBO series.

“There’s been an explosion of really inventive TV produced over the past few years, but nothing can prepare you for Chillin Island,” said Nina Rosenstein, Executive Vice President of HBO programming, in a statement. “It’s a brilliant mix of offbeat observations and weirdly funny revelations built around three unconventional hosts, some well-known rappers, and exotic locations. It’s quirky, irreverent, and at times, profound.”

Chillin Island, which is executive produced by Josh Safdie, Sebastian Bear-McClard, Drake and Adel “Future” Nur’s DreamCrew, will premiere on HBO on December 17 and run for six episodes.
