Amalgam Collection, known globally for its fine hand-made scale models, has now made it possible for collectors to own a Ferrari 296 GT3 for $18,090 USD, set to be produced in a limited run of 199 examples, like the previously released 296 GTS.
Historically, the 296 GT3 represents the result of Ferrari‘s vision for GT racing, a sector that has maintained a close relationship with customers and the greatest transfer of technology and innovation to production cars. In this regard, the 296 GT3 stands as the latest example of the company’s two-seater mid-rear-engined sports car, designed to redefine the idea of fun behind the wheel.
A stand-out differentiator between the 296 GT3 and its “twin”, the 296 GTB, is its lower center of gravity, with a unique 120-degree V6 configuration, housing the turbochargers within the mid-rear mounted engine.
Like its other models, this “fine scale model” of the 296 GT3 was handcrafted and finished by Amalgam in cooperation with Ferrari — specifically regarding finishes, materials, archival imagery and drawings.
“The use of original CAD has allowed us to perfectly recreate every detail at scale. Furthermore, the prototype model has undergone detailed scrutiny by Ferrari’s engineering and design teams to ensure complete accuracy of representation,” expressed the brand.
Standing at a 1:8 scale, the model measures 22 inches long and required 3,000 hours of work to develop and 300 hours to build. Interested collectors can purchase or learn more about the Ferrari 296 GT3 on Amalgam’s official site.
