Yeah Yeah Yeahs Announce 2023 U.S. and European Tour Dates

Yeah Yeah Yeahs Announce 2023 U.S. and European Tour Dates

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs are officially heading out on tour this spring and summer, with a string of shows booked in the U.S. and Europe in support of their 2022 album, Cool It Down.

The reunited band will kick off their travels in Washington, DC, on May 5, before traveling across the states and hitting several festivals, including Shaky Knees Music Festival and Boston Calling Music Festival. After concluding their U.S. leg at Berkeley, California’s Greek Theatre, the band will head to Yuzawa, Japan for Fuji Rock Festival on July 28, followed by stops in London, Paris, Amsterdam and Berlin. The Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ “Spitting Off the Edge of the World” collaborator Perfume Genius will open for the band at several shows.

Alongside the tour’s announcement, the band shared the official music video for the Cool It Down track “Blacktop,” directed by David Black. In a statement, lead vocalist Karen O said, “‘Blacktop’ stuck out to me early on, the demo was very stripped down instrumentally and emotionally. It was a step toward what radical closeness feels like after a long separation. Each record has one of these diamonds in the rough that just feels like flying to me. It felt right to keep the video as stripped down and dare I say beautiful in its naïveté.”

Watch the “Blacktop” video above, and see the Yeah Yeah Yeahs official 2023 tour dates below. Tickets will be available for presale on Ticketmaster beginning February 8 at 11 a.m. ET.
