Ye is hard at work on his upcoming Bully, teasing the release with the preview of an unreleased track entitled “BEAUTY AND THE BEAST.”
The artist took to Instagram to share a short visual shot during his Vultures listening party in Haikou, Hainan, China while a soundbite of “BEAUTY AND THE BEAST” plays in the background. Ye can be heard singing and rapping over some stellar production work that samples The Mad Lads’ “Don’t Have To Shop Around,” possibly hinting at what kind of sound fans can expect from the new record. “UPDATED FROM TOKYO. RAN THE ASR THROUGH THE SP 1200. BULLY ON THE WAY,” he wrote in the caption.
A few days prior to the track’s preview, journalist Touré hopped on social media to share that Ye is now “living in [Tokyo] and working on his album and experiencing a new sense of peace.” He said in the video, “He’s recording the album in the hotel room. Like, all the machines are set up in the hotel room.”
Touré added, “It’s a concept album and he plans to be the only producer on it. Traditionally, Kanye is the product of a team, there are producers helping him, there are writers helping him, he comes with the big ideas but there’s others in. Not this time. This time, Kanye is gonna make this pretty much by himself. A fresh chapter in his life because in Tokyo he can be who he wants to be.”
