Ye Drops Trailer for Joint LP With Ty Dolla $ign 'Vultures,' Reveals Album Will Be Released in 3 Volumes

Ye and Ty Dolla $ign have returned with an update of their collaborative album, Vultures. The LP was first announced in November and the duo dropped its titular song “Vultures” the same month. Since then, the release date for the album has continuously been pushed back.

On Tuesday, January 23, Ye and Dolla $ign shared a trailer for Vultures on social media. Featuring a reworked version of the title track, the video was directed by Jon Rafman and shows a montage of creepy imagery, from a house burning to a clown sitting in a car. Other cuts in the visual include wolves howling at the Moon, a tongue sticking out of an unzipped face mask and figures wearing black clothing walking through the forest.

Many users expressed their dislike for the trailer in the comment section of Ye’s Instagram, contrasting the eerie trailer with Ye’s 2019 gospel album, Jesus is King.

Ye and Dolla $ign also revealed on social media that Vultures will no longer be released as a full-length album but will rather be split up into three volumes. The first volume is now scheduled to arrive on February 9, followed by the second volume on March 8 and the third and final on April 5.

According to Ye’s representatives, the new version of the “Vultures” song features Bump J and Lil Durk. A version of the album played at a Miami listening party in November previewed tracks with guest appearances from Nicki Minaj, Kodak Black, Playboi Carti, Chris Brown and Freddie Gibbs, as well as a track sampling the Backstreet Boys’ “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back).” Reports following the event alleged that Ye and Dolla $ign never cleared the Backstreet Boys sample and that Minaj also declined to have her verse on “New Body” appear on the album.

Stay tuned for more updates on Ye and Ty Dolla $ign’s Vultures LP.
