Ice Spice‘s team reportedly banned the use of a verse she recorded for Kanye West‘s “New Body.”
The claim was made by Ye himself in a now-deleted Instagram Story, “ICE SPICE SENT A VERSE IN FOR NEW BODY NOW HER TEAM IS SAYING WE CAN’T USE IT.” His assertion arrived shortly after YesJulz, a talent manager who used to work with West for the rollout of Vultures, Volume 1 (and is currently being sued by the artist for violating an NDA), shared a series of text messages revealing that “New Body” was sent to both Spice and Doja Cat to “see who sounds best.”
“New Body” dates back to 2018’s YANDHI album and was created with Ty Dolla $ign and Nicki Minaj. There were plans to finally include the track on Vultures, Volume 1, however Minaj refused to clear her verse.
