In celebration of one of the episodes of its Xbox docuseries over on YouTube, Microsoft has now made Red Ring of Death posters you can buy for $25 USD.
Titled Power On: The Story of Xbox, the six-part docuseries follows the creation and development of the now legendary console over the years since its original launch exactly two decades ago, exploring all of its highs and lows. Of course, it wouldn’t be a proper documentary about Xbox if it didn’t discuss the infamous Red Ring of Death that occurred on the Xbox 360, and so the team dedicated the entirety of the fifth episode to explore the tragedy.
For those unfamiliar, the Red Ring of Death occurred when the Xbox 360 is confronted with a hardware issue that required physical repairs. When experiencing this problem, the front LED ring of the console would turn from green to red, signifying that the console is no longer working, and a large portion of the first machines released was actually plagued with this phenomenon. “By the time we looked at the cost of repairs, the lost sales that we factored in, we had a $1.15 billion USD problem,” recalled former Xbox chief Peter Moore.
For those interested, you can check out chapter five of Power On: The Story of Xbox above or find the entire docuseries over on the console’s official YouTube channel.
Elsewhere in entertainment, Kingsman 3 director Matthew Vaughn has confirmed that the film will wrap up Eggsy’s story arc.
