Woman Files to Dismiss Sexual Assault Lawsuit Against Snoop Dogg

Woman Files to Dismiss Sexual Assault Lawsuit Against Snoop Dogg

In early February, Snoop Dogg was sued by a woman who claimed that the rapper sexually assaulted her in California in 2013. After Snoop Dogg and the other defendants filed motions for dismissal on March 24, the woman and her attorney yesterday filed a notice of voluntary dismissal of the lawsuit.

The woman, identified as Jane Doe, had been suing Snoop Dogg for a violation of the Trafficking Victims Protection Act, for sexual battery, for sexual assault, and more. In addition to Snoop Dogg, she named as defendants the rapper’s associate Bishop Don “Magic” Juan and the companies Gerber & Co, Inc.; the Broadus Collection, LLC; Casa Verde Capital, LLC; and Merry Jane Events, Inc.

In a statement shared with Pitchfork, a spokesparty for Snoop Dogg said, “The allegations of sexual assault against Calvin Broadus (aka Snoop Dogg) are simply meritless.” The spokesparty also said the lawsuit appeared to be extortive.
