Wiz Khalifa has become known for dropping mixtapes seemingly at random, many of which contain upwards of 20 or 30 songs. In 2023 alone, he dropped four tapes: Star Power, See Ya, Khali Sober and Decisions.
Khalifa had yet to put out any tapes in 2024, though he did reveal that he was expecting his second child last month. Over the weekend, he shared that he’d be putting out an album and a mixtape in the near future and that the tape is called Wiz Owens.
Spanning 13 tracks, the tape arrived just a day later. The project opens with the vibe-heavy single “Jet Lag” and features appearances from Young Deji, 24hrs and Sosamann.
Responding to a fan on X who inquired when the actual album would be out, Khalifa wrote that he’s “clearing the samples still so this is for in the meantime.”
