Do cars have any “gender-sensitive” safety features? Do men and women suffer exactly the same risk of the same injuries in the same way in the event of a crash? Me Too
Both genders are the same species and evolved on the same planet, so as well as some differences they have even more (anthopometric) similarities. There are compelling demonstrations of women’s equality in this respect on rugby fields and in wrestling and boxing rings.
In terms of crash resistance, there are more crucial variations between individuals of either gender (age, weight, height, health etc.) than between the genders themselves. It is those variations that the designers of safety/protective equipment in cars have increasingly addressed.
These include child and booster seats, adjustable top belt mountings, and the air bag (which, like crumple zones, rigid passenger compartments and several other things, can help save your life whoever you are).
It is different species, not different genders, that require different preventive and protective equipment. Pets, livestock (and some wits might include children in this category).
The priority with pets and livestock is equipment to prevent them “causing” an accident (leashes, cages, mesh barriers etc.). Their own safety in the event of an accident caused by someone else is built into the design, positioning and diligent use of those items.
