Miu Miu hosted its S/S21 runway show yesterday, in front of a star-studded audience of actresses and It-girls. Though unlike year’s past, the runway show was a distinctly digital affair.
From the comfort of their own homes, starlets took a virtual front-row seat and tuned into the Miu Miu show watching models parade around an elliptical stadium. In a thoroughly 2020 move, their faces were then projected inside the stadium as they watched the show, creating a fully digital audience the models were able to see as they walked.
From Gabrielle Union-Wade to Alexa Chung, the audience consisted of chic women from across the globe, all of whom were dressed in their own unique Miu Miu looks. Actress-on-the-rise Storm Reid wore a knitted playsuit while Bel Powley opted for a floral dress and Poppy Delevingne donned a tartan skirt.
Aside from the innovative audience, another noteworthy aspect of the Miu Miu’s show is the fact that it also played host to the runway debut of Kate Moss’s daughter Lila Grace. Opening the show, Lila took to the catwalk in an oversize blazer and beaded mini skirt, before appearing again in a blue babydoll dress and one more to close the show.
