In the KQEN Cultural Spotlight:
Music from West Africa is coming to Music on the Half Shell on Tuesday night.
Sona Jobarteh is the first professional female Kora virtuoso from the region’s Griot dynasties. Jobarteh is reputed for her skills as an instrumentalist, her distinctive voice and her grace onstage. She has rapidly achieved international success as a top-class performer.
The unique sound will be heard on the stage at the Nichol’s Band Shell beginning at 7:00 p.m. Those who attend can bring dinner, along with wine or beer. Food trucks and other vendors will have food and beverages for sale as well.
