“Weird Al” Yankovic joins Kyle Meredith to talk about his latest single, “Polkamania!” Listen to the comedian and musician talk about the latest addition to his polka medley series above or wherever you get your podcasts.

Yankovic dives into the process of taking some of the biggest pop hits of the last decade (including tunes from Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Adele, and others) into a medley of accordion-driven polka music. Through the conversation, he touches on how his relationship with contemporary pop music has shifted as he’s aged, as well as why he’s pivoted from albums to singles. Part of that is wanting to make sure his humor stays evergreen; he references his parody of the 2024 Biden-Trump debate as an example of why he stays out of political humor, saying two weeks later “it’s completely out of date!”

Elsewhere, Yankovic revisits songs from his catalog like “That Boy Could Dance” and “Lame Claim to Fame,” and touches on his work outside of music, including talk of last year’s Weird: The Al Yankovic Story and his relationship with the Stranger Things cast.
