Netflix has announced Wednesday Season 2 has officially begun production in Ireland with an expanded cast including new series regular Steve Buscemi and guest stars Christopher Lloyd and Thandiwe Newton.
Billie Piper, Evie Templeton, Owen Painter, and Noah Taylor have also boarded the hit show as regulars, with the guest spots filled out by Joanna Lumley, Frances O’Connor, Haley Joel Osment, Heather Matarazzo, and Joonas Suotamo.
As seen in the announcement video below, Lumley will step into the role of Grandmama with Buscemi as Barry Dort, Piper as Capri, and Newton as Dr. Fairburn.
The Wednesday Season 2 premiere is titled “Here We Woe Again” and was penned by showrunners Alfred Gough and Miles Millar. Tim Burton will direct. No release date has been set for the next installment of the series.

In other cast updates, Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia Addams), Luis Guzmán (Gomez Addams), Isaac Ordonez (Pugsley Addams), and Luyanda Unati Lewis-Nyawo (Deputy Ritchie Santiago) have all been promoted to series regulars. Jamie McShane (Sheriff Donovan Galpin) and Fred Armisen (Uncle Fester) will return as guest stars.
Wednesday star Jenna Ortega, who has taken on an executive producer role, previously revealed this season will “lean into the horror” while “ditching any romantic love interest.”
Ortega has also teamed up with Burton for his Beetlejuice sequel, set to hit theaters on September 6th.
