WAYNESBORO – The Waynesboro Area YMCA will welcome the YMCA Center for Healthy Living on Tuesday, Jan. 23, for a community-focused resource event. This event, funded by the Department of Health, aims to provide residents with valuable information and access to essential healthcare services.
From 9 a.m. to noon, attendees can expect a wealth of resources at their fingertips. The Center’s staff will be on hand to distribute information on COVID-19, influenza, and other chronic health conditions. Additionally, they will offer guidance on navigating health insurance options.
For those seeking immediate healthcare assistance, a pharmacist will be available throughout the event, offering free flu and COVID vaccinations. Blood pressure and blood glucose screenings will also be available, providing valuable health insights for participants.
“We are seeking to reach veterans, the homeless, and low-income families,” said a representative from the Waynesboro Area YMCA. “However, this is a free community event and open to all and we encourage everyone to come and learn more about the resources available to them.”
The Waynesboro YMCA will also be offering tours of their facilities and sharing information about their various programs and services. This event presents a unique opportunity for residents to explore how the YMCA can benefit their health and well-being.
Admission to the resource fair is free and open to all. The Waynesboro Area YMCA is located at 810 East Main Street, Waynesboro, PA 17268. For more information, please contact the YMCA at (717) 762-6012.
