The release of Top Gun: Maverick has kept star Tom Cruise busy. With the film at top of mind, the action star is having fun with his promos, recently taking on two ex-Formula 1 drivers on the iconic British Grand Prix Silverstone race track.
Cruise caught up with Channel 4 Sport for a “dogfight” on the track between himself and David Coulthard and Mark Webber. All three are driving a Porsche 911 GT3 as they speak about being each other’s wingmen. Known for doing all his stunts, Cruise knows a thing or two about maneuvering high-speed vehicles.
As the trio begins their race, scenes from his newest film Maverick are intertwined with shots from the actual race on the track. Cruise gets into character to deliver some of his most iconic lines as he takes on the two former racers on the Silverstone track, proving he has the “need for speed.” Take a look above at Tom Cruise participating in a game of “dogfight” on the track.
In case you missed it, Top Gun: Maverick soars past $151 million USD for opening weekend box office.
