Peacock has dropped off the official trailer for its upcoming The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reboot, Bel-Air.
The almost three-minute preview, which includes a first look at footage from the series, arrives after Peacock previously unveiled a teaser featuring a dramatic take on the original version’s classic theme song in November.
“Set in modern-day America, Peacock’s new one-hour drama series Bel-Air imagines the beloved sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air through a new, dramatic take on Will’s complicated journey from the streets of West Philadelphia to the gated mansions of Bel-Air,” an official synopsis reads. “As these two worlds collide, Will reckons with the power of second chances while navigating the conflicts, emotions, and biases of a world far different from the only one he’s ever known.”
Peacock first secured the reboot in September 2020 with a two-season order. Bel-Air was originally slated to premiere last year, though the series was postponed due to several showrunner changes.
The show stars Jabari Bank (Will), Adrian Holmes (Phillip), Cassandra Freeman (Vivian), Olly Sholotan (Carlton), Coco Jones (Hilary), Akira Akbar (Ashley), Jimmy Akingbola (Geoffrey), Jordan L. Jones (Jazz) and Simone Joy Jones (Lisa).
Bel-Air premieres on Super Bowl Sunday, February 13, with its first three episodes. New episodes will then be released on a weekly basis.
