Paramount Pictures has dropped off the final trailer for the upcoming fifth installment in the slasher franchise Scream, which is slated to premiere in theaters this Friday.
Packed with pull quotes from critic reactions and reviews, the short-yet-terrifying visual reveals plenty of suspense-building moments, intense fight sequences, fiery weapons and, of course, screams.
The upcoming movie, directed by Matthew Bettinelli-Olphin and Tyler Gillet, sees the return of Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott, Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers, David Arquette as Dewey Riley and Marley Shelton as Judy Hicks. Helmed by the duo behind Ready or Not, the film also stars newcomers Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Kyle Gallner, Jack Quaid and others.
“Twenty-five years after a streak of brutal murders shocked the quiet town of Woodsboro, a new killer has donned the Ghostface mask and begins targeting a group of teenagers to resurrect secrets from the town’s deadly past,” the official synopsis reads.
The latest Scream enlists the franchise’s long-time screenwriter Kevin Williamson as producer, along with James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick. This movie marks the first Scream film that will not be directed by Wes Craven, who passed away in 2015.
