A new official trailer for Solo Leveling Season 2 has been released, with Crunchyroll confirming the popular anime’s return in 2025.
The first season of Solo Leveling premiered in January 2024 and completed its 12-episode run by the end of March. Based on Chugong’s widely successful and hugely popular webtoon series, the anime was produced by A-1 Pictures and faithfully delivered a slick and compelling adaptation that lives up to the story’s action-heavy, RPG-like portal-fantasy premise.
The story follows Sung Jinwoo – the world’s weakest hunter – who transforms after acquiring the System, a unique program only he can see. This system allows Jinwoo to level up his abilities, leading him to uncover the secrets behind his newfound powers and the dungeons that spawned them. Season 2, subheaded Arise From the Shadow will continue Jinwoo’s journey as he embarks on a quest to save his sick mother, having earned the title “Shadow Monarch” and control over an army of shadows.
The new trailer also offers fans a glimpse of new footage, revealing the ending theme song, “UN-APEX” by TK, best known for his “Unravel” track that was used as Tokyo Ghoul’s opening theme.
