Watch the Official Trailer for Live-Action Adaptation of 'Twisted Metal'

Initially announced back in 2021, Peacock has now delivered the official trailer for its live-action adaptation of Twisted Metal. The first look at the upcoming take on the cult Sony PlayStation video game title shows Anthony Mackie as protagonist John Doe and offers a taste of the unique humor drawn from the dark comedy tone of the source material.

Set to the late DMX‘s “Party Up (Up In Here),” the trailer sets the stage, “20 years ago, the world fell to sh*t. Cities put up walls to protect themselves and threw the criminals out so they could fight over what was left. But there are humble motherfuckers like me delivering cargo from one walled city to another. That’s where the cars and guns come in.” Peacock notes that the new series is a “high-octane action comedy” with references that fans of Twisted Metal will be sure to pick up on.

Aside from getting a look at co-stars Stephanie Beatriz, Neve Campbell, and Thomas Haden Church, the trailer ends with a look at wrestler Samoa Joe playing killer clown Sweet Tooth, with voice acting by Will Arnett.

Twisted Metal is now set to premiere July 27 exclusively on Peacock with 10 half-hour episodes.
