After receiving an official poster accompanied by a release date, we now have the first trailer for Creed III. The third installment serves as the sequel to 2018’s Creed II and the ninth film in the Rocky franchise. It is also interesting to note that Creed III will also be Michael B. Jordan‘s directorial debut.
Based on a screenplay by Keenan Coogler and Zach Baylin, adapted from a story they co-wrote with Ryan Coogler, Creed III chronicles Adonis “Donnie” Creed’s rise and places him in a testing situation brought on by his past. Jonathan Majors stars as Damian Anderson, a former friend of Adonis that comes back and is looking to claim everything Adonis has worked for.
The cast also features Tessa Thompson, Phylicia Rashad, Wood Harris, and Florian Munteanu, Rocky franchise creator Sylvester Stallone will not be appearing in the film but serves as a producer under his Balboa Productions banner.

My directorial debut?! Still sounds crazy to say but there’s no film that has been more personal to me and no film I’ve felt more ready to steer. Excited to share the first trailer for Creed 3. To my cast & crew thanks for working so hard to continue the legacy of the franchise. pic.twitter.com/PSbOr2usdH
