As Star Wars: Andor concluded just two weeks ago, the franchise has spared no time in shifting gears to promoting its next project, season two of Star Wars: The Bad Batch. The animated series serves as an extension of Star Wars: The Clone Wars, exploring the aftermath of Order 66 with The Bad Batch aka Clone Force 99, a group of experimental clones that first appeared in season seven of The Clone Wars. Now, following its first trailer that revealed the return of characters such as Emperor Palpatine, Lucasfilm is preparing fans for the show’s return next month.
In this action-packed teaser, Star Wars fanatics are offered a detailed look at The Bad Batch’s new armor paint, some of Omega’s developed combat skills and the appearance of new and classic characters. Taking place months after the conclusion of the show’s first season, Captain Rex connects with the squad once again while Commander Cody and Crosshair continue to obey Order 66 and support the Empire. The Clone Wars fans may also note the return of Gungi, a force-sensitive Wookiee who looks to be teaming up with Omega.
A total of sixteen episodes have been announced with January 4 kicking things off with Episode 201 Spoils of War and Episode 202 Ruins of War. Following this, single episodes will release weekly on Wednesdays with midseason and finale weeks featuring two episodes. The show is set to be available exclusively via Disney+ where season one is viewable now.
