CD Projekt Red has dropped off the gameplay trailer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt‘s long-awaited next-gen update.
Titled the “Complete Edition,” the upgraded action role-playing game receives myriad renovations, including improved character models with 4K textures, ray-traced lighting effects, cloud saves and new content based on Netflix’s The Witcher. Additionally, players can choose to play the game at 60 frames per second, and a new photo mode lets users take quick screenshots in-game.
The enhanced version of the popular title, for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, was initially scheduled to release in June of this year. However, CD Projekt Red delayed the update’s arrival indefinitely after moving development in-house from Saber Interactive and later announced that it would release during Q4 of 2022.
Players who presently own the original 2015 title on PC, PlayStation 4 or Xbox One will be given a free upgrade to the next-gen version. New users can purchase the refreshed game as an independent title.
The next-gen update will become available on December 14 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Watch the gameplay trailer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt‘s next-gen update above.
