The official trailer for The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim has finally been released. Two months ago, Warner Bros. Animation shared the first look at the highly-anticipated anime film prequel to J.R.R. Tolkien’s illustrious Lord of the Rings novels.
The trailer opens with an ominous narration by Éowyn (voiced by Miranda Otto), setting the tone and premise for the events that are to unfold in the film. Freca, a Dunlending lord storms into the House of Helm Hammerhan with a marriage proposal between his son Wulf and King Hammerhan’s daughter, Hèra. Hammerhan, who understood Freca’s true ill-intentions to take his thrown, then ended up in a violent fist brawl with the Dunlending lord, who ended up accidentally dead in the process. In lamenting his father’s death, Wulf wages war against Hammerhan to seek revenge.
Directed by award-winning filmmaker Kenji Kamiyama, the feature film’s stunning action sequences and sleek animation are handled by Sola Entertainment — a multimedia production company that worked on Rick and Morty: The Anime, Blade Runner Black Out 2022 as well as also Shinichiro Watanabe’s upcoming sci-fi anime, Lazarus.
