Gen V, a spinoff of the esteemed Amazon Prime series, The Boys, sees its first official trailer. The two-minute sneak peek into the highly anticipated spinoff is loaded with familiar faces (alongside a slew of new ones), action-packed snippets and a good amount of gore.
The show follows a new group of freshmen students at Godolkin University – where “the best and brightest young heroes” have trained since 1965. The strictly-superhero university – the only of its kind – is described as a “safe space for [heroes] to thrive”, but as the trailer continues and “dangerous, evil people at the school” are introduced, viewers grow wary of the claim.
Meet Marie Moreau, skilled hero played by Jaz Sinclair, who’s on track to be the first top-ranked freshman in Godolkin’s history. Moreau, more specifically, has aspirations that stem beyond Godolkin’s four walls: to be the first black woman in The Seven. Blood gets spattered, generated and exploded, as the trailer comes to a close with a moment of Moreau as she exclaims to her fellow heroes: “I exploded his d*ck!”
Sinclair is joined by a lineup of new faces in The Boys universe including Chance Perdomo, Lizze Broadway, Maddie Phillips, London Thor, Derek Luh, Asa Germann and Sam Riordan. Jessie T. Usher, Claudia Doumit, Colby Minifie, and P.J. Byrne will return to reprise their respective roles from The Boys.
Gen V is set to stream on Amazon Prime beginning on September 29. The first three episodes will be released simultaneously, followed then by a weekly release schedule until the finale on November 3.
