The final trailer is out for the second (and last) season of Netflix’s Arcane. Based on the League of Legends world, the show follows two League of Legends champions, Vi (Hailee Steinfeld) and Jinx (Ella Purnell), who also happen to be sisters.
The first season of Arcane left off with Jinx attacking the council, effectively declaring war. The trailer for the new season previews the eruption of a civil war between the wealthy city of Piltover and the oppressed underworld of Zaun.
“Arcane is just the beginning of our larger storytelling journey and partnership with the wonderful animation studio that is Fortiche Production,” the show’s co-creator Christian Linke said. “From the very beginning, since we started working on this project, we had a very specific ending in mind, which means the story of ARCANE wraps up with this second season. But Arcane is just the first of many stories that we want to tell in Runeterra.”
Linke also noted that the second season will explore the dark sides of the show’s characters. Jinx is left grappling with her decision, which effectively ruins any chance of a resolution between the two cities. The season will also introduce a few new characters from the LoL universe.
The trailer is called “Come Play,” named after a song from the show’s soundtrack by Stray Kids, Young Miko and Tom Morello.
The new season of Arcane will be released in three acts on November 9, 16 and 23. Watch the official trailer above.
