Soccer Mommy was the latest guest to the NPR office to play a “Tiny Desk Concert.” She performed songs from her three full-lengths: 2018’s Clean, 2020’s Color Theory, and last year’s Sometimes, Forever. For the performance, Sophie Allison was joined by guitarist Julian Powell, keyboardist Rodrigo Avendano, bassist Nickolas Widener, and drum machine player Rollum Haas. Watch the band do “Shotgun,” “Circle the Drain,” “NewDemo,” and “Still Clean” below.
Soccer Mommy was scheduled to perform a Tiny Desk Concert in 2020; the performance was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and Soccer Mommy’s Sophie Allison became the first artist to record a “Tiny Desk (Home) Concert” for the series.
Last fall, Soccer Mommy revealed she’d scored the New York Times and Serial Productions podcast We Were Three. Allison also shared a video for Sometimes, Forever cut “Feel It All the Time” and an early draft of “Darkness Forever.”
