Virginia Beach rap duo Clipse (or Pusha T and No Malice) reunited on the 2022 BET Hip Hop Awards stage on Tuesday for a special performance of their 2002 debut single, “Grindin,” just over 20 years following its release.
King Push first took the stage to perform a plethora of tracks from his recent album It’s Almost Dry, including “Diet Coke” and “Just So You Remember,” before inviting No Malice on stage for a surprise reunion. As Pusha T concluded his final track with fitting lyrics — “Just so you remember who you’re dealing with” — onlookers heard the opening bars of the Pharrell-produced hit “Grindin” and No Malice made his appearance.
The duo last joined forces at Pharrell’s Something in the Water festival in June, marking the first time Pusha T and No Malice had publicly performed together in over a decade. Clipse put out their last record, Til The Casket Drops, in 2009, but they later teamed up for Ye‘s Jesus is King (2019) and Nigo‘s I Know NIGO (2022).
