DragTimes has put three electric vehicles to the test to see which model would take the crown as the highest-performing EV. Following its previous Lucid vs. Tesla race, The Tesla Model S Plaid, Lucid Air Dream Edition and Porsche Taycan Turbo S are put to the test to see which car is the closest to becoming the world’s fastest EV sedan.
Tesla‘s premium sedan comes out on top, winning all three races. The Tesla Model S Plaid has a refreshed 1020 horsepower from its three electric motors, coming in at only 4,800 lbs, weighing much less than the Lucid and the Taycan. The Lucid has 1,111 hp powered by two electric motors, weighing in at 5,300 lbs. Lastly, the Taycan makes 750 hp from its two electric motors with its two-speed transmissions and weighs the same as the Lucid.
The video showed that power-to-weight rations did not correlate. The Lucid Air had an impressive performance, though its heavier body would require more effort to move. The Taycan’s weight and noticeably lower horsepower placed it in third, behind the pack. While the Taycan is considered one of the better handling EVs, it did not come out on top in the drag race.
Watch above for the full drag race between the three EV sedans.
