Pokémon and Daniel Arsham have put together a five-series art exhibition titled “A Ripple in Time,” currently taking place at galleries across Japan.

In conjunction with the physical displays, the duo has debuted an exclusive short film, following an initial teaser released earlier last month. The film begins by portraying a thriving metropolis where humans and Pokémons coexist side by side. Arsham and his Pokémon Cubone are seen dueling Ash and Pikachu before Pikachu’s thunderbolts hit Celebi, causing Ash and Pikachu to be transported to a future dimension where the city is deserted and overrun with greenery.

Arsham’s crystal erosion Pokémon sculptures are scattered throughout the city, featuring Bulbasaur, Jigglypuff, Charmander, and more. As Celebi leads them into a mysterious cave, the Pokémon evolutions get higher as Charizard, Mew-Two, and Blastoise sculptures appear overhead.

Take a look a look at the trailer above to see how the story ends. Arsham revealed that the saga is to be continued, hinting at the possibility of future episodes.

The Daniel Arsham x Pokémon “A Ripple in Time” exhibitions are now open, exhibiting eroded stone Pokémon sculptures, live animations, paintings, drawings, and more.
