Panda Bear and Spacemen 3’s Sonic Boom have released the latest single from their upcoming album Reset. “Edge of the Edge” samples Randy & the Rainbows’ 1963 song “Denise” and arrives with a trippy music video directed by longtime Animal Collective and Panda Bear collaborator Danny Perez. Watch the clip for “Edge of the Edge” below.
Reset arrives August 12. Panda Bear and Sonic Boom (aka Peter Kember) released lead single “Go On” last month. The track samples the 1960s garage group the Troggs, and was issued with a visual by James Siewert.
Panda Bear and Sonic Boom have been collaborating since 2011 when Kember mixed the former’s solo album Tomboy. A dollar from each CD and LP sale of Reset will go to the environmental nonprofit Earthisland.org. Additionally, Domino Mart will release a limited-edition yellow vinyl edition of the album, as well as an extra 500 translucent pink LPs on sale via Bandcamp, with $10 going towards MAPS, a nonprofit researching and developing psychedelic therapies as a form of mental health treatment.
