Kendrick Lamar, Dr. Dre, Eminem, Mary J. Blige and Snoop Dogg graced the Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show stage with an electric performance that is sure to go down in hip-hop history.
The 15-minute show was filled with classic hits and kicked off with Snoop and Dre’s “The Next Episode” followed by “California Love” sans the rumored Tupac Shakur hologram. 50 Cent then made a guest appearance by recreating his famed “In Da Club” visual, and Mary J. Blige entered in a shiny, all-white ensemble as she powerfully performed “Family Affair” and “No More Drama.” About halfway through, K-Dot and men in black suits appeared from boxes marked “Dre Day” and he gave watchers the intro of “m.A.A.d city” and the To Pimp a Butterfly cut “Alright.” Behind Lamar, Eminem blew up the set with “Lose Yourself” before Dre began to play the piano notes of “Still D.R.E.” and closed the show out with everyone on stage.
