Having a morning routine is essential for setting the tone for the rest of the day and nurturing overall well-being. It provides a sense of structure, mindfulness, and self-care, helping to cultivate a positive mindset and prepare oneself, mentally and physically, for the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead. Huma Qureshi believes in something similar as she recently shared her morning routine.
“Huma Qureshi knows how to get the most out of her day. From her fitness routine (where she outperforms the boys) to her favourite breakfast and how she declutters her mind to focus on the day ahead, here’s how the star of Tarla prefers her Morning Chai,” wrote Tweak India, alongside a video of Huma taking everyone through her usual mornings.
On being asked what the first thing she does after opening her eyes is, Huma shared that she can reveal what she doesn’t do instead. “I don’t go for my phone. In the past few years, I used to wake up and immediately check my phone, which led to significant morning anxiety. So now, my rule for the first hour after waking up is to avoid touching my phone,” she explained.
For Huma, mornings hold a sacred significance. “During that one hour, I need to be with myself, just walk around, and most days, I write my morning pages,” she added.
Regarding her morning skincare routine, Huma found oil pulling to be highly beneficial. “I swish coconut oil around my mouth. It has noticeably improved my skin texture, especially because I had PCOD growing up,” she shared. She prefers a simple face wash, keeps her skincare light, and applies a small amount of sunscreen even at home.
Huma also mentioned that her face tends to be puffy in the mornings. “So when I’m shooting, I use various facial massage tools that help stimulate the muscles,” she revealed.
When it comes to morning beverages, Huma is a black coffee enthusiast. As for breakfast, she opts for a smoothie bowl consisting of avocado, kale, fruits, nuts, and seeds.
However, Huma admitted that she isn’t particularly inclined towards breakfast. “If I delay eating until noon, I feel more alert. But if necessary, I’ll have eggs. Sauteed asparagus or mushrooms would be an ideal breakfast for me. I enjoy coconut water, lemon water, and hot water,” she expressed.

When asked how she would exercise with only 15 minutes to spare, Huma shared that on her cardio days, she prefers sprinting or kettlebell swings. “They provide an effective full-body workout. Though I have a strong dislike for burpees, I focus on leg workouts,” she admitted.
Like many of us, Huma also wishes for extra time in the mornings. “On days when I wake up early, those are my best mornings. By noon, I feel accomplished. I prioritise exercising, taking a cold shower, and journaling—writing three pages, basically clearing my mind. I guard my journal closely because if anyone reads it, their impression of me would be ruined. After taking care of my body and mind, I feel decluttered and can approach my work with a better mindset,” she shared.
One thing Huma despises in the morning is rushing. “I hate the feeling of rushing in the morning, and I dislike having many people around me in the house, which happened today,” she revealed.
