Watch Father John Misty’s New Video for “Goodbye Mr. Blue”

Father John Misty has shared a new music video for the song “Goodbye Mr. Blue” from his forthcoming album Chloë and the Next 20th Century. It’s directed by Noel Paul, who previously helmed the “Hollywood Forever Cemetery Sings” visual. The new video is “an elliptical portrait of a family reunion, and was shot in and around Sofia, Bulgaria in September 2021,” as described in a press release. Watch below.

“Goodbye Mr. Blue” is the third single from Chloë and the Next 20th Century, following “Funny Girl” and “Q4,” and Father John Misty recently performed it with a band on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert. The album is due out April 8 via Sub Pop and was produced by Jonathan Wilson. The deluxe edition comes with a 7″ featuring album tracks covered by Lana Del Rey and David Lynch (billed under the name Jack Cruz).
