Dry Cleaning have shared the latest single from their upcoming album Stumpwork. It’s called “No Decent Shoes for Rain” and it arrives with a music video shot by the band. Check it out below.
Stumpwork is the follow-up to Dry Cleaning’s 2021 debut, New Long Leg. The new LP arrives October 21 via 4AD. The band has shared lead single “Don’t Press Me,” as well as “Anna Calls From the Arctic,” and “Gary Ashby.” Dry Cleaning described latter song as “a lament about a pet tortoise, escaped as a result of family chaos.”
“‘No Decent Shoes for Rain’ is inspired by grief,” vocalist Florence Shaw said of the new track in press materials. “Grief over past relationships, grief for loved ones who have died, and all the things that come with that; loneliness, numbness, yearning, ruminating about the past.”
Dry Cleaning will kick off a 2023 world tour in support of Stumpwork in January. Revisit Pitchfork’s 2021 Rising interview “Dry Cleaning’s Everyday Surrealism.”
