Following the release of the official trailer earlier this month, Hulu on Wednesday dropped off an exclusive clip, titled “My Friend Charlie,” from its upcoming original thriller Deep Water.
The film, which is based on Patricia Highsmith’s psychological thriller novel of the same moniker, promises to take viewers “inside the marriage of picture-perfect Vic (Ben Affleck) and Melinda (Ana de Armas) Van Allen to discover the dangerous mind games they play and what happens to the people that get caught up in them,” according to an official synopsis.
The new clip sees Melinda casually introduce Vic to her friend and piano teacher Charlie (Jacob Elordi), which incites an obvious sentiment of discomfort in Vic and quickly makes things awkward.
Aside from Affleck, de Armas and Elordi, the movie stars, Tracy Letts, Lil Rel Howery, Finn Wittrock, Dash Mihok, Kristen Connolly, Rachel Blanchard, Jade Fernandez, Michael Braun, Grace Jenkins, Brendan C. Miller and Devyn Tyler.
Deep Water is directed by Adrian Lyne, marking his first film in 20 years, based on a script written by Zach Helm and Euphoria creator Sam Levinson. The film is produced by Garrett Basch, Steven Zaillian, Guymon Casady, Ben Forkner, Arnon Milchan and Anthony Katagas.
