Following word of 300 Entertainment looking to sell last month, reports are now noting that Warner Music Group has now purchased the independent music enterprise. Home to Megan Thee Stallion, Young Thug and more, founded in 2012, 300 Entertainment has served as a highly influential part of hip-hop in the last few years.
In an official statement, 300 Entertainment Co-founder and CEO Kevin Liles will now serve as both Chairman and CEO for 300 and Elektra Music Group. Calling the Warner team “family,” Liles added that the monumental deal is part of a “natural evolution” for all involved. “It’s the perfect home for 300 artists and our team, as we invest in our independent vision and grow our global impact.” Although the exact sale figure has not been revealed, reports approximate that Warner Music Group purchased 300 Entertainment for around $400 million USD.
Since its founding, Atlantic Records/WMG has handled distribution for 300 Entertainment.
In case you missed it, Drake’s performance from Kanye West’s Free Larry Hoover Benefit Concert has been mysteriously cut from Amazon Prime.
