Following the news of Warner Bros. Discovery‘s decision to pull its already-completed Batgirl film from any form of release, fans were left in dismay. The move to cancel the film led fans to wonder if they would ever see a Batgirl project. The move also comes during Warner Bros. Discovery’s shakeup.
Despite canceling the film, Variety has reported that the new group’s chiefs Michael De Luca and Pam Abdy are still hoping to “mend fences” with Leslie Grace. While Batgirl’s own film has been shelved, the studio reportedly wants Grace to continue playing the character for other projects or even be a part of different productions at the studio.
The original film was set to star Grace as Batgirl or Barbara Gordon and would have featured JK Simmons as his reprising role of Commissioner James Gordon, as wel as Michael Keaton returning to the Batman role. It remains to be seen if Grace will be a part of other Warner Bros. Discovery projects as Batgirl in the future.
In other entertainment news, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is returning to theaters later this month.
