Virgil Abloh Shares Kid Cudi’s Impromptu Freestyle at Met Gala 2021 After Party

Virgil Abloh Shares Kid Cudi’s Impromptu Freestyle at Met Gala 2021 After Party

After an already eventful night filled with the industry’s flashiest and most creative fashion moments, Virgil Abloh took to Instagram to share a video of an intimate jam session after the Met Gala.

The video appears to show that BADBADNOTGOOD, Kid Cudi and ASAP NAST were all in attendance. BADBADNOTGOOD seemed to start off the Met Gala 2021 afterparty with a musical set of instrumentals before the night was kicked up a notch by Cudi, who takes the mic and delivers a strong set of freestyle bars. Virgil accompanies his Instagram post with a caption stating, “Inspired to keep curating these different nights out around music-music instead of just music. I had my friends @badbadnotgood set the tone last night. @asapnast & @kidcudi impromptu. Was different, really different.”

It is unclear if this hints at a potential creative collaboration between the artists or if onlookers will have a chance at seeing the “impromptu” magic happen again. The video seems to have arrived less than 24 hours after Cudi hit the Met Gala carpet in a new $1 million USD chain exclusively designed by Ben Baller and KAWS. The chain is reportedly 18K gold and is a one-off piece for the rapper.
