Vince Staples has dropped a new single “Got ‘Em,” as part of the Pokémon 25: The Red EP.
“I’ve always been a fan of Pokémon, so it was particularly special to be asked to take part in this 25th anniversary celebration,” Staples said in a release. “I’m excited for people to hear ‘Got ‘Em,’ and hope the song resonates with fans, especially those who grew up with Pokémon like I did.” He added that the single is inspired by Pokémon characters Mew and Raichu.
“Got ‘Em” lands on the tracklist next to Cyn’s “Wonderful” and Mabel‘s “Take It Home,” which debuted last month. Each track from The Red EP will be remixed by Zhu later this month for The Blue EP, before appearing on the P25 Music compilation album this fall. The record, which will be released by Capitol Records, also features Katy Perry, J Balvin, and Post Malone.
Last month, Staples released his self-titled fourth studio album, which includes 10 tracks and only one guest appearance from Fousheé on “TAKE ME HOME.” Next year, the rapper will join Tyler, the Creator on his North American Call Me If You Get Lost tour with Kali Uchis and Texas artist Teezo Touchdown. The tour will commence on February 10, 2022, at the Pechanga Arena in San Diego and conclude on April 8, 2022, at the Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle, with a total of 34 stops. Tickets are available for purchase beginning today on the tour’s official website.
