Vince Staples has shared a visual for last month’s track “Magic” with record producer and beatmaker Mustard. The video opens with Staples walking through a convenience store and buying a bag of frozen vegetables to ice his bruised face, which he attributes to a “party down the street.”
Cutting to the event itself, the Long Beach rapper finds himself in a fight with a few of the partygoers and is eventually kicked out.
“Feeling like I’m floating to the ceiling, is it magic?” he raps in the chorus. “Baby, tell me why you disappearing, this is magic.”
On Twitter, Staples referred to the video as a commercial, and in its closing credits, teased that the story was “to be continued.” Fans can likely expect that the rapper will drop more promotional footage as he gears up for the release of his fifth studio album Ramona Park Broke My Heart, out this April via Motown Records. The project was first announced last year and will follow 2021’s self-titled LP.
