Venue bans Puddle of Mudd after cancellation: "This is 100% Wes"

A Michigan venue has put Puddle of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin on blast after the band apparently canceled its upcoming shows, effectively banning the rock act from playing there ever again.

Puddle of Mudd were set to play a two-night stand at The Machine Shop in Flint on September 15th and 16th. However, a post on the venue’s Facebook page stated the band had canceled all of its upcoming live performances, including the two shows at The Machine Shop. In making the announcement, the venue put the entirety of the blame on Scantlin.

The Machine Shop’s post read:

“Puddle Of Mudd has cancelled all their upcoming concerts including the shows September 15 and 16 at The Machine Shop. This is not a ‘due to circumstances beyond our control’ cancellation. This is 100% Wes. The Machine Shop, his band and everyone involved are very disappointed.

We will not be postponing the shows as we are not ever rescheduling Puddle Of Mudd. All tickets purchased through Etix will be automatically refunded. All hard tickets can be refunded at point of purchase. Thank you and please know that all of us at The Machine Shop appreciate your support and understanding.”

As of this posting, ticket websites such as StubHub list the two Flint dates, as well as one-off concerts on October 28th in Lorain, Ohio, and November 17th in McHenry, Illinois.

Puddle of Mudd have made no official announcement regarding any concert cancellations. The band just released the new album Ubiquitous this past Friday (September 8th).

The band-venue turmoil potentially continues a trend of legal troubles that have followed Scantlin, who has also become notorious for his onstage meltdowns. If Scantlin broke contract with the Michigan venue, he could be facing more legal issues.
