Tom Hardy stars in the trailer for Venom: The Last Dance, the final film in the Marvel trilogy. The actor portrays Eddie Brock, an investigative journalist who becomes host to an alien symbiote and is imbued with superpowers. Together the dual alien-human is known as Venom.
The debut Venom film debuted in 2018, followed by Venom: Let There Be Carnage in 2021.
The trailer opens with Brock being threatened by a gang and retaliates by transforming into Venom and wreaking havoc.
“You should probably know that I have a really dark and unpredictable side to me,” Hardy says in the trailer.
Directed by Kelly Marcel, The Last Dance sees Venom being hunted down by adversaries from two worlds. Stateside, the US government seeks to capture the duo – possibly to use them as a weapon – while the symbiote’s home planet has found the two and similarly seeks to take them out.
Rounding out the cast are Chiwetel Ejiofor, Juno Temple, Rhys Ifans and Alanna Ubach. Peggy Lu plays Brock’s friend Mrs. Chen, and Stephen Graham portrays Patrick Mulligan, an NYPD officer and eventual host to the symbiote Toxin.
