Ultra-Rare 2011 RUF Rt12 S Surfaces for Sale

An ultra-rare 2011 RUF Rt12 S with only 513 miles on its odometer is now being offered for private sale by Chicago Motorcars. This exceptionally rare model, limited to just 13 examples globally, is known for its breathtaking performance and boasts a 685 hp twin-turbocharged 3.8L engine paired with all-wheel drive.

Finished in a sleek Basaltblack Metallic exterior and a luxurious Dark Grey Alcantara interior, this Rt12 S is as visually stunning as it is mechanically impressive. The vehicle comes fully equipped with a road safety kit, owner’s books, a RUF Zertifikat and a vehicle information sheet.

RUF, renowned for its precision engineering and high standards, earned its status as an official automobile manufacturer in 1981, a remarkable feat in the competitive German tuning industry. The Rt12, introduced in 2004, marked RUF’s first entirely house-built automobile, showcasing the company’s ability to transform Porsche platforms into unique, high-performance vehicles.

The RT12S stands out with its powerful 3.8L twin-turbocharged flat-six engine, derived from an earlier Metzger design, coupled with a RUF-built transaxle and limited-slip rear differential. This setup delivers all 685 hp to the ground through wide rear tires, while an advanced hydraulic suspension system with a front axle lift function ensures optimal handling. Braking is handled by a capable eight-piston front and four-piston rear calipers, all housed within RUF’s signature five-spoke wheels.

This particular Rt12 S, completed in December 2010, comes with special features like chrome badges, ParkAssistent, chrome kickplates, HomeLink, automatic dimming mirrors and a hydraulic lifting system. Initially registered in Germany, the car has been sparingly used and is in remarkable condition.

While Chicago Motorcars has not shared a price for the vehicle in its listing, the very same example was recently up for auction via RM Sotheby’s and was given an estimated value in the range of $950,000 to $1,200,000 USD
