According to reports, Tyler Perry is now rumored to be looking into buying a majority stake in BET Media Group. The American actor, filmmaker, and entrepreneur is now reportedly in active discussions with BET’s parent company Paramount Global.
Perry currently has a minority stake in BET Media Group, which includes BET, VH1, BET Studios, and BET+. Aside from holding a minority stake, Perry has produced a number of projects for both BET and BET+ over the years. The reports go on to note Paramount Global has been exploring the sale of the company currently helmed by Chief Executive Officer Scott Mills. If the deal goes through, Paramount is expected to hold a minority stake and maintain commercial agreements already active.
