Logan Paul has once again upset the internet with his latest antics. A long-time Pokémon fan, Paul has often taken to social media to share his love for the trading card game whether it is through box break reveals or showing off his $1 million USD gem mint 10-graded Pokémon Charizard.
Now, the older of the Paul brothers finds himself in hot water from Pokémon fans after posting a video to his Twitter that showed him completing his “first epoxy resin project.” The DIY project sees the YouTuber douse 15 Game Boy Colors in resin just to make a tabletop. Being that these devices are now considered collectible gaming consoles, his video sparked outrage from the vintage collector community. Amongst those who criticized Paul was Bob Wulff, a fellow YouTuber. Many others were quick to point out that Paul has deliberately ruined historical pieces and that some were considered to be limited editions.
While it is likely that Paul spent thousands procuring some of these Game Boys, the community does not appear to be outraged by the cost but rather how he has chosen to use them as opposed to preserving them for value. Take a look at his DIY project and some reactions he has garnered below.

Everyone here who says “they probably didn’t work” obviously has never owned a gameboy or gameboy color since you can fucking play basketball with that thing and it’ll still be fine. Do y’all really NOT see these are all like pristine and don’t even have discoloration?

“Yeah my tabletop is made of authentic game boys. What? My tabletop had hardly any functionality and sucks? Too bad I needed to go viral instead of making money off a collector”

Or something like this with thicker glass so it could be used as a table.

Nah.. this ain’t it for me. Ruining classic gameboys. For a table? Nah. This was a dumb idea.
